Our Activities include

• Education.

  • NZSA provides 50% funding of NZAEC (the New Zealand Anaesthesia Education Committee). Contributing to the New Zealand Anaesthesia Annual Scientific Meeting run through NZAEC is one of the principal activities of the Society.
  • Educational Publication. A variety of brochures, booklets and DVDs for the benefit of members and the public are provided by the Society at low cost.
  • Resources. A variety of downloadable forms are provided for NZSA members to use in their daily anaesthetic practice.
    

• Research.

  • Prizes are awarded by the Society to anaesthetists and anaesthetists in training at the Annual Scientific Meeting.

• Foreign Aid. 

  • A percentage of the annual NZSA budget is allocated to assisting anaesthetists and improving anaesthetic services overseas, predominantly in the South Pacific.

• Professional issues.

  • The NZSA makes regular submissions to government organisations, professional bodies and lay groups regarding proposed legislative changes or activities relevant to practising anaesthetists in New Zealand.
